Keynote speaker bio:

Petter is a geoscientist at the Norwegian Offshore Directorate, where he currently works with the APA licensing rounds, geophysical technology and digitalization. He has a master’s degree in geology from the University of Houston and in technology management from NTNU. Before joining the NOD in 2019 he worked with seismic imaging and velocity modeling in the service industry.

Abstract of the talk:

What is the Norwegian Offshore Directorate? Why did the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate Change its name? Peter will go through what role the NOD has in managing the resources in the subsurface on the Norwegian Continental Shelf – both empathizing with the continued importance of oil and gas for the decades to come and emerging industries such as CO2 storage and seabed mining. He will also talk about the importance of technology development and research for maximizing value creation on the Norwegian Shelf.
