🎉 What an incredible first talk of the year! 🎉

We had our first Tech Talk of the Year on 19th February, presented by Mathias Schioldborg, an oil and gas analyst at Rystad Energy on 19th February at Spor 5, Stavanger.

It was an engaging discussion centered on 2024 awards in pre-defined areas (APA) results. It featured the NCS oil and gas market update and forecast for the period of 2025-2030. It was interesting to learn that only Brazil surpasses the NCS in projected offshore investments towards 2030, overtaking the US, China, and Saudi Arabia.

Here are some keys stats on 2024 APA for you from the Norwegian Offshore Directorate: "20 companies have been offered ownership interests in a total of 53 production licences on the Norwegian continental shelf (NCS). The authorities reviewed applications from a total of 21 companies in autumn 2024. Of these 53 production licences, 33 are in the North Sea, 19 in the Norwegian Sea and 1 in the Barents Sea. 20 of the production licences are additional acreage for existing production licences. This year's awards show that the companies on the NCS are still very confident in their ability to make more discoveries near existing oil and gas infrastructure."
